Auto Care Plus keeps a written record of every service performed on your autos, checks each auto against the NHTSA recall database, reminds you before the next job is due, and syncs all of it through your own iCloud account. There is no account to create, no password to set, and no ads.
Garages
A garage is a container for autos. Most people keep one, but you can add as many as you need, which is how households with autos in two places, or a small fleet, stay separated. Each garage holds a name, the owners, and free form notes, and the list reorders by dragging.
Autos
An auto carries the details you actually get asked for: make, model, year, series, trim, VIN, title number, license plate, the state safety inspection date, the registration date, and notes. Make, model, year, and VIN show a validation icon, so a typo in a VIN is visible before it becomes a wrong recall check.
Adding an auto starts with the VIN. Type or paste it and the year, make, model, series, and trim are filled in for you, with a chance to check the result before anything is saved. Entering the details by hand is still one tap away. An auto can be moved to another garage later without losing its history.
VIN Lookup
VIN Lookup sits in the garage menu and decodes any VIN, whether or not you own the auto. Enter the number and it shows the year, make, model, series, and trim that NHTSA has on file. Nothing is saved and no auto is created, so it works for an auto you are thinking about buying.
Service notes
A service note is one visit to the shop or one job in the driveway. It records the date, the mileage, the work done, your own notes, and a due date for the next time. Work is chosen from a shared library of service options like Oil Change and Tire Rotation, so the same job reads the same way every time and the history stays searchable.
If you only know the year something happened, a service note can be dated by year alone rather than left out.
Safety recalls
Auto Care Plus checks your auto against the NHTSA recall database by make, model, and year and lists the open recalls it finds. You can share the details straight from the app, which is what a shop asks for when you book the repair.
Reminders, events, and Calendar
Any service note can carry a due date, and the app raises a notification when the date arrives, at a time of day you choose in Settings. Autos also hold events with expiration dates, for the paperwork that has nothing to do with a repair: state safety inspection, registration renewal. Turn on Allow Calendar Events and those dates appear in your Apple Calendar, and stay in step when you add, edit, or delete one.
What's Next?
What's Next? reads your service history, reminders, events, and mileage and predicts what is coming due. It shows up inside the garage and auto views, and it can be switched off in Settings if you would rather decide for yourself.
Siri, Spotlight, and Shortcuts
The app answers directly from Siri, from Spotlight search, and from the Shortcuts app. You can add an auto, a note, an event, or a reminder, log or read the mileage, ask what reminders are due, ask what is coming up, look up an auto's details, check recalls, and decode a VIN, all without opening the app. New notes and events appear in Spotlight straight away.
iCloud sync and sharing
Everything syncs automatically through CloudKit to your own iCloud account, so an entry made on an iPhone is on the iPad and the Mac without a step from you. Sign in to a new phone with the same Apple ID and the records come back down on their own, with no manual restore.
An auto can also be shared with another iCloud user. Both people see the same service history and both can add to it, in either direction, which is how a spouse, a parent, or a child stays current on an auto they share. Long press the auto row for Manage Sharing, Copy Share Link, and Stop Sharing. A single service note can also be sent as plain text by mail or Messages, which shares the information without giving anyone access.
Search
The system search field runs across garages, autos, and service notes together, so you can find the brake job without remembering which auto it was on.
Export, import, and backups
Settings has an Export that writes your whole history to a backup file, and an Import that reads one back in with a guided walk through. You can also create and restore backups from inside the app. Your records are yours to take somewhere else at any time.

Platforms
Auto Care Plus runs on iPhone, iPad, and Mac from one build, and needs iOS 18.0 or later. On iPad it uses a multi pane layout, with garages, autos, and one auto's detail side by side, and it adapts to Split View. The app is written for Apple platforms only, and it publishes its accessibility support for VoiceOver, Voice Control, Larger Text, Dark Interface, Differentiate Without Color Alone, and Sufficient Contrast.
